Summer 2017, Catalog for the “Hecke” exhibition
Students: Janis Gildein, Rahel Goetsch
“Hecke” was an interdisciplinary exhibition project undertaken by the weißensee academy of art berlin in collaboration with the Kleine Humboldt Gallerie, completed in 2016, and shown on July 1st, 2017, at the Kunstpunkt Berlin Mitte. During the 2017 summer semester, two visual communication students designed the accompanying catalog as well as the exhibition graphics and typography. When it came to designing the catalog, the challenge lay in highlighting individual artistic positions while emphasizing the cooperation between the various participants and disciplines involved. It was also important to visualize the concept of the exhibition – mutual exchange between the participating artists – in all of the related media.
