What are the future prospects and fields of work open to graphic designers? To what extent are art school students prepared for the rapidly changing creative industry? How should compensation for design work be determined? Why aren’t there professional bodies in place to enforce official criteria for calling oneself a “designer”? This project consisted of following these and similar lines of questioning, without identifying clear-cut, definitive answers. “Designers, let’s design our profession!” was a moderated discussion platform that explored exciting perspectives on these issues. It was intended to stimulate collective contemplation of the roles and perspectives of graphic designers.
