The differences between Arabic and Latin scripts are as great as the fences within the global village are tall. Attempts to reconcile the two often involve designing Arabic scripts in accordance with Latin principles of form, and not the other way around. Rik Watkinson designed an Arabic Naskh/Kufi hybrid font and adapted a corresponding Latin version. He incorporated German handwriting typefaces and 19th-century Italienne typefaces to create a contrasting display sans serif script.
