Winter 2018/19, A Lover’s Discourse: Fragments

Supervisors: Wim Westerveld, Christian Schiebe

A project in cooperation with the Freie Universität Berlin (Dr. Astrid Herbold)
Students: Nam Borgers, Beatrice Davies, Bilge Emiroglu, Zeynep Keskin, Lisa Kirchhoff, Tess Meyer, Eva Reischl, Antonia Stoyke, Katharina Sellier, Luise Spielhagen, Swantje Malz, Benjamin Rückert

The goal of this semester project was to produce a literary magazine in cooperation with the Freie Universität Berlin. An interdisciplinary team of FU and weißensee students jointly defined a concept for the content, starting from the first editorial meeting and collaborating through to the finished print template. The students took A Lover’s Discourse: Fragments by Roland Barthes as a starting point for this combined illustration/typography project. Over the course of the project, the FU students also produced additional content for which the weißensee students provided illustrated comments.
