10 Jahre Kunst- und Ausstellungshalle der Bundesrepublik Deutschland
To commemorate the tenth anniversary of the Bundeskunsthalle, we were asked to design a retrospective book of the exhibitions and activities held at that space during its first decade. We were given access to a large archive of photographs taken prior to and during exhibitions. We also decided to include images of the preparations for and set-up of the exhibitions to emphasize the dynamism and diversity of the Kunsthalle’s work. For the typography, we chose a sober Univers and paired it with a straightforward, objective design in keeping with the CI at the time, which had been developed by Neville Brody.
