I created the editorial concept and design for typeface brochures for FontShop Benelux and FontShop International. These were produced and widely circulated between 1998 and 2010, and highlighted interesting new typefaces. I was responsible for editing and designing the series. Each brochure has a similar composition. It begins with an introduction or interview with the type designer about their inspirations and motivations for creating the new typeface. This is followed by a classic type specimen with an overview of the glyphs and sample texts. Next comes a section that covers defining characteristics of the typeface, then several examples of the typeface in use. Each brochure was printed in two colors: black and a very bright (usually fluorescent) highlight color. The brochures serve as guides for designers seeking fonts for particular purposes.
