Letters – een bloemlezing over typografie

Client: [Z]oo Productions, Eindhoven, NL

Project: Anthology and designer’s guide

Year: 2001

This is a book about designing and applying type, compiled for students of graphic design and anyone else interested in creating and using fonts. I approached the authors and designed and edited the book. The book is part of a series of monographs by [Z]oo Productions, a non-profit publishing house committed to the acknowledgment of Dutch heritage in the field of graphic design. This book was presented at a symposium in December 2001 at De Rode Hoed, a well-known stage venue in Amsterdam. At the symposium, a number of authors (Erik van Blokland, Henk Gianotten, Lucas De Groot, Fred Sahari, Gerard Unger) met to discuss and present their views on type design. The book is typeset in Renard, a revival font by Fred Smeijers that is based on a 16th-century typeface by Hendrik van den Keere.
